Cooking Class at Villa Durso Marino
Step into the heart of Italian home cooking with a relaxed and authentic culinary experience at Villa Durso Marino. Set in a traditional Italian kitchen with a beautiful wood-fired stove, this family-friendly cooking class is all about good food, local flavours, and creating memories together in one of the most scenic settings in Positano.
Using fresh eggs from our own chickens and quality local ingredients, you will learn how to make classic Italian dishes such as homemade pasta, gnocchi, tiramisu, and other traditional recipes passed down through generations. Along the way, you can enjoy local wine, stunning views over Positano, and the warm atmosphere of cooking and dining together like family.
This is a calm, welcoming, and personal experience, perfect for couples, families, parents, and children looking to share something special beyond the usual tourist activities. We currently host small groups of up to 10 people to keep each class intimate, relaxed, and truly memorable.
Villa Durso Marino can be reached by bus or on foot. We recommend arriving on foot if you can, so you come hungry, ready to cook, and even more ready to enjoy everything at the table.

Our Story

Our cooking class began with something much deeper than food. It began with family, heritage, and a desire to care for a place that means everything to us.
Villa Durso Marino is part of our family story. It was built by our grandparents by hand, with love, hard work, and a deep connection to the land. Over the years, it became more than a home — it became a symbol of our roots, our traditions, and the values that have been passed down through generations.
Today, we are continuing that journey by restoring and caring for the property, its gardens, and the surrounding land so it can once again become a strong and beautiful family house, full of life, warmth, and meaning. Through our cooking classes, we invite guests to be part of that story.
This experience is about more than learning recipes. It is about sharing the traditions of our family, celebrating the beauty of Positano, and keeping alive a way of life that is deeply connected to nature. Surrounded by lemon trees, olives, gardens, and homegrown ingredients, we want to bring people closer to the simple joys of eating well, living well, and being together.
As one of the original Positano families, the Durso name is part of the history of this village, and we feel proud to share that heritage with others. Our dream is to help preserve the spirit of old Positano — a place of gardens, fresh food, fishermen, farmers, family, and community — while creating meaningful experiences for visitors from around the world.
This is also why we offer hiking tours through our gardens and along the mountain paths. These walks are a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, breathe deeply, and experience Positano in a more authentic and grounding way.
Everything we do is rooted in harmony — with the land, with tradition, and with the people who visit us. We are not only restoring a family property. We are keeping a heritage alive and sharing it with those who want to experience the true soul of Positano.
