The Positano Sunrise Experience

There is something completely different about Positano before the town wakes up.

Our Sunrise SUP Tour is designed to give you the chance to experience the Amalfi Coast at one of the most peaceful and beautiful times of the day. With fewer boats on the water, quieter beaches and the early morning light hitting the cliffs, it is an opportunity to see a side of Positano that most visitors never experience.

We meet in the morning at Fornillo Beach, where your guide will get you set up with everything you need. Before heading out, we begin with a short warm-up, safety briefing and paddleboarding lesson, so you do not need to have previous SUP experience.

Then it is time to get on the water.

Your Sunrise Itinerary

​

We paddle out from Fornillo and begin exploring the coastline as the sun rises over the Amalfi Coast.

The exact route can change depending on the sea, weather and the group, which means no two Sunrise Tours have to be exactly the same.

During the experience, there can be opportunities to:

• Paddle beneath the dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coast

• See Positano from the sea as the town begins to wake up

• Explore small coves and hidden areas along the coastline

• Paddle towards caves and rocky formations

• Stop for a swim in the Mediterranean

• Go snorkelling in clear morning water

• Relax on your board and simply take in the views

• Take photographs from the water with Positano behind you

• Learn and improve your SUP technique with your guide

• Discover more about the coastline and some of our favourite local spots

Depending on conditions and the route that morning, we can also include different stops and little adventures along the way.

This isn't about racing from one location to another. The Sunrise Tour is about having the time to enjoy being on the water.

Everything You Need Is Included

​

We provide the equipment you need for your morning on the sea, including your SUP board and paddle, lifejacket, dry bag and waterproof phone bag.

Your phone bag means you can keep your phone with you on the water and capture photos and videos throughout the experience.

Our team can also take photos of you while you paddle, so you can have those third-person shots that are difficult to capture yourself.

Snorkelling equipment can also be provided when conditions and the route allow for a swim or snorkelling stop.

No SUP Experience? No Problem.

​

You don't need to be an experienced paddleboarder.

Every Sunrise Tour begins with instruction on the beach before we enter the water. We will show you the basics of balance, paddling, turning and controlling your board before setting off.

The tour is designed to be an experience first — not a competition.

Once everyone is comfortable, we head along the coast together.

Why Sunrise?

Later in the day, Positano becomes one of the busiest destinations on the Amalfi Coast.

Sunrise is different.

The beaches are quieter. There are fewer boats. The temperature is cooler. The water can feel incredibly peaceful, and you get to watch Positano slowly come to life from one of the best viewpoints possible — the Mediterranean Sea.

For couples, friends, solo travellers and anyone looking for something a little more special than another morning on the beach, this is one of our favourite ways to experience the coast.

And when your paddle finishes, your day in Positano has only just started.
