There is something completely different about being on the water as the day begins to slow down.

Our Sunset SUP Tour is approximately three hours, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, giving you an extra hour compared with our Sunrise Tour and more time to explore, swim, snorkel and enjoy the coastline before watching the colours of the evening transform the Amalfi Coast.

It has become one of our most requested and frequently booked experiences, particularly during the busiest summer months, so we strongly recommend pre-booking your place rather than waiting until you arrive in Positano.

You don’t need to be an experienced paddleboarder. The tour has been designed for different ability levels, including complete beginners, and your guide will help you get comfortable on the board before the real adventure begins.

Your Sunset Adventure Begins on Fornillo Beach

We meet on Fornillo Beach in Positano, away from some of the crowds of Spiaggia Grande.

Before heading out, we’ll get everyone prepared with their equipment, explain the conditions and provide a short SUP lesson covering balance, paddling, turning and how to move safely as a group.

Once everyone is comfortable, we leave the beach behind and begin paddling along one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline in Italy.

And this is where the experience really begins.

From sea level, the Amalfi Coast looks completely different.

The cliffs that seem impressive from the road suddenly tower above you, while Positano slowly disappears behind you and the coastline opens into rocky formations, secluded beaches, caves and hidden coves that many visitors never get close enough to experience.

Watch the Coast Change as the Sun Goes Down

One of the things that makes the Sunset Tour so special is that the scenery is constantly changing.

At the beginning of the tour, the Mediterranean is still bright and clear. You can look down into the water, see the rocks beneath your board and stop in beautiful swimming areas along the route.

But as the afternoon moves towards evening, everything begins to change.

The intense light of the day softens.

The cliffs begin to glow.

The water reflects the sky.

And gradually the colours above you move through warm peach, soft pink, purple and deep Mediterranean blues.

Some evenings are dramatic. Others are incredibly peaceful. No two sunsets are exactly the same, which is part of what makes this experience so special.

By the time you are paddling around the coastline towards Tordigliano, it can feel like you are watching the Amalfi Coast change colour around you.

Sometimes the best thing to do is simply stop paddling, sit on the board and take it all in.

Hidden Beaches, Caves & Secret Corners

The coastline between Positano and Tordigliano is full of places that are much easier to discover from the sea.

Depending on conditions and the ability of the group, your guide can take you towards small coves, rocky inlets, caves and secluded beaches along the route.

Some stops are perfect for swimming.

Others are great places to snorkel.

And sometimes we simply paddle inside, explore and enjoy being somewhere that feels completely removed from the busy streets and beaches of Positano.

The exact route can change depending on the sea, wind, boat traffic and conditions on the day.

That flexibility is intentional.

Rather than following exactly the same route every time, your guide can choose the areas offering the best experience that evening.

Jump In, Swim & Snorkel

This isn't three hours of simply paddling in a straight line.

There are opportunities to get into the water and enjoy the Mediterranean properly.

We carry snorkelling masks, allowing you to stop and explore some of the clear water along the coastline.

When conditions are suitable, there may also be opportunities for cliff jumping.

Cliff jumping is completely optional, but for guests looking for a little extra adventure it can become one of those moments you remember for years.

Stand on the rocks.

Look down at the Mediterranean.

Push yourself slightly beyond your comfort zone.

And jump.

Sometimes those spontaneous moments become the best memories of the entire holiday.

All swimming, snorkelling and cliff-jumping stops depend on conditions and individual ability, and your guide will always explain the safest options available.

Bring your phone.

You are going to want it.

The combination of paddleboards, Mediterranean water, enormous cliffs, hidden beaches and the changing colours of sunset creates some incredible opportunities for photographs and video.

Whether you want that perfect summer Instagram video, photos with your partner or friends, or simply something personal to look back on when the holiday is over, there are opportunities throughout the tour to capture the experience.

Waterproof phone cases are available, helping you keep your phone protected while still being able to capture the adventure.

And of course, not everything needs to be filmed.

Sometimes the best memory is putting the phone away, sitting on your board and watching the sky change colour.

Your Guide Is With You Throughout the Experience

The Amalfi Coast can become busy with boats, particularly during summer.

Having a guide means you don't need to spend the entire experience worrying about navigation or what is happening around you.

Your guide leads the route, watches the changing sea conditions, keeps an eye on passing boats and helps the group stay together while showing you some of the most interesting areas along the coastline.
